The the day dawned grey and cloudy but by mid-morning the clouds started to clear and the sun broke through with a crisp edge to it. I was having my morning coffee and reading when I heard a small engine plane working pretty hard. I thought it a little unusual but didn't get up. Ten minutes later I heard it again and ten minutes after that. It's engine would work really hard and then it would go silent.
I finally got up and took a look out the back door and to my delight there was a Cessna towing a glider! I hadn't seen one of those in years and it was wonderful. The Picton Airport flight path is over the house. It's not a busy airport except when glider pilots are training. There IS a gliding school in Picton however it is for the Armed Forces so I will have to wait a little longer. One of my bucket list items is to glide.
I walked most of the afternoon with my camera in hand. There is so much to see when you walk that you don't see when you are in a car. I will miss the amazing walking and bike riding and exploring I have been able to do around Prince Edward County.
